About
As long as he can remember, Mitch wanted to be a lawyer. In High School, he was a member of the Calhoun High School debate team. In college, he was a member of the Berry College Debate Team and the Middle Tennessee State University Mock trial team. Mr. Shannon also worked his way through law school as a runner for Trabue, Sturdivant DeWitt and Miller Martin in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mr. Shannon is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and the Nashville School of Law. Admitted to practice in 2001, he is a member of the Rutherford/Cannon County Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mr. Shannon maintains a general practice with a concentration in family law, criminal law, and personal injury. Mr. Shannon also represents the Domestic Violence Program, Inc., and assists victims of domestic violence with Orders of Protection.
My career in law is no accident. I was admitted to law school after years in business rather than right after college, and I believe God uses me in each case in which I am involved. Assisting clients with issues in divorce, child custody, domestic violence, or criminal proceedings necessitates me seeing them at their lowest point in life—and their most vulnerable. The term with which I sign each correspondence “Attorney and Counselor at Law” really does define what I do. I strive to assist each client through the difficult times until he or she finds the light at the end of the tunnel, resolution of the case, and the strength to move forward with life.
